Veterans Protest
The aim of Veterans Protest .com is to highlight the chronic shortfalls in the UK War Pensions and Veterans agency’s services and commitments to Ex service personel. There are ex services committing suicide, suicidal, mentally ill or in prison because of the lack of care and treatment centres in the United Kingdom!
We aim to bring to the notice of the public and the politicians the following:
- The lack of treatment for ex services with mental health problems.
- The lack of support for homeless veterans.
- The low payments for a war pensioner. £154 maximum.
- The time it takes to process a war pension claim.
- That the NHS does not know about Veterans Prioitry treatment.
- War pensions are deducted when a war pensioner becomes unemployed from their benefits. (Which means it is a waste of time having a war pension)
- Local councils do not exclude war pensions and deduct the amount of the war pension from the war pensioners rent allowance claim when that become unemployed and see rent allowance.
- The Combat stress charity does not have the facilities to help seriously ill veterans with mental health problems caused by their service.
- The war pension mobility allowance does not help veterans who have mental health problems and can not travel on public transport The civilian mobility allowance does recognise people with mental health problems need help to get around.
- Veterans in prison are not getting help with reebilitaion
- Why have PTSD treatment schemes been set up that exclude veterans who left the services before 1982 !
- Veterans are committing suicide at an alarming rate.
- That there are no re-education schemes in process.
- There are no veterans hospitals.
- No matter how sever your injuries if one injury adds up to a 100% any other injuries are not paid any allowance.
The British army has fought in more campaigns than any other army. So you would think we would have the best after care for ex services personel!
We are informed when we join the services we will receive the best after care and treatment if we are injured or develop mental health problems as a result of our service for Queen and country.
