Applying for a War Pension

To receive a War Pension of £154 per week, you must fill in a form send it off to war pensions, wait months and then a Doctor comes out to assess you. The Doctor then sends his report to the War Pensions agency, it may take up to a year for that application to be processed.

While the application is being processed, the applicant is suffering and not receiving any treatment as he has not yet been recognised as a war pensioner.

After becoming a War pensioner, you can then apply to 'combat stress' the Ex services mental agency, they may take 6 months to come out and assess you. You may then wait another year before you can go to a Combat Stress restbite home. Combat Stress can assess you but they do not have the power to see that the ex services get treatment!
